Bendel Insurance’s Divine Nwachukwu is gearing up for his first ever appearance with the Super Eagles. The midfielder was invited to the national team following his stellar performance at the Nigeria Premier League Super Six playoffs in Lagos. Nwachukwu is competing with the likes of Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo and Frank Onyeka for a place in midfield.
Despite the stiff competition, the talented midfielder is eagerly awaiting the chance to step onto the field against the Leone Stars. “It will be a great honour to play against Sierra Leone,” he said after a recent training session.
Nwachukwu is one of four home-based players who received an invitation to the national team. The other three are Ojo Olorunleke, Victor Sochima and Ebube Duru.
