Victor Boniface Emerges as a Potential Transfer Target for AC Milan
Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has been in the spotlight this season as one of the best performers in Europe. With the summer transfer window approaching, rumors have surfaced that AC Milan may consider the young forward as a potential target.
Milan’s primary target is reportedly Marcus Thuram, but negotiations with the French striker’s current club, Borussia Mönchengladbach, could become complicated. As a result, Milan may explore other options, and Boniface’s name has emerged as a potential alternative.
Boniface joined Union Saint-Gilloise in August 2022 for a fee of 2 million euros, but his stock has risen significantly since then. The 22-year-old has contributed to 34 goals (22 goals and 12 assists) in 55 games this season, including six goals in the Europa League, making him the joint-top scorer in the competition.
As the first Nigerian player to top the scoring chart in the Europa League, Boniface’s exceptional performances have garnered attention from several clubs in Italy, England, and Germany. Eintracht Frankfurt is one of the latest teams linked to him.
Milan’s interest in Boniface is justified, given his impressive stats and relatively moderate valuation. The Nigerian forward’s estimated price tag of around 10 to 15 million euros could fit within Milan’s budget for the transfer market.
However, Milan’s pursuit of Boniface will depend on the outcome of negotiations for Thuram. If Milan fails to secure Thuram’s services, they may turn to Boniface as their next best option. Nevertheless, Boniface’s future remains uncertain, and it remains to be seen which club he will join next season.
