Arsenal Loannee Goalkeeper, Ovie Ejeheri, has been making waves in the football world with his exceptional performances. Ejeheri has kept twenty clean sheets in all competitions across two clubs this season and has now been invited to train with the Flying Eagles.
The young goalkeeper, who is on loan at SJK Seinäjoki in Finland, has been impressing fans and experts alike with his shot-stopping talents and calm under pressure. Ejeheri was officially called up to train with the Flying Eagles during the winter break, before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. However, he couldn’t attend the training camp in Abuja due to his duties at his club side.
Born in 2003, Ejeheri joined Arsenal when he was eight years old and signed his first professional contract with the club in August 2021. He spent his entire youth in the Arsenal academy before signing for National League South club side, Chelmsford City, in July 2022. In just the first half of the season, he kept twelve clean sheets in just twenty-five games and then made the move to SJK Seinäjoki on 28th January 2023.
Since then, Ejeheri’s career has been on the rise with a string of fine performances where he recorded another eight clean sheets, bringing his total to twenty clean sheets in all competitions across Europe. His selection to train with the Flying Eagles demonstrates his talent and promise, and he will be trying to make an impression on the national team coaches.
Ejeheri said, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to play for SJK Seinäjoki and to be called up to train with the Flying Eagles. I’m simply trying to work hard and improve my game so that I can continue to serve my club and have a great impact on the national team.”
The goalkeeper’s performances have piqued the interest of both football fans and experts, and he will be hoping to build on his recent success and continue to perform on the pitch. Ejeheri’s performances for SJK Seinäjoki and his call-up to train with the Flying Eagles are just the start of what looks to be a long and successful career in football.
