Balde Pens New Contact At Barcelona

Spanish defender Alejandro Balde has recently signed a new contract with FC Barcelona, one of the top clubs in La Liga. According to Football Espana, Balde had been in negotiations for a new deal with the Catalan club for a few weeks, and he has now officially penned a five-year contract with the reigning champions.

At just 19 years old, Balde has already established himself as the first-choice left-back for Barcelona, especially with the departure of experienced player Jordi Alba at the end of the 2023/24 season. Despite sustaining an ankle injury towards the end of last season, Balde had been one of Barcelona’s standout performers prior to his setback.

Barcelona has been quite active in the transfer market this summer, strengthening their squad for the upcoming season. Alongside Balde, the club has brought in IIkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez, Oriol Romeu, and Vitor Roque. These new additions will undoubtedly contribute to the team’s overall performance and competitiveness.

In addition to Balde’s contract extension, another promising young player, Lamine Yamal, has also signed his first professional contract with Barcelona. The talented player will be with the Blaugrana (Blue and Red) until 2026, showcasing the club’s commitment to nurturing and developing young talent.

Last season, Balde made 33 appearances in La Liga and managed to find the back of the net once. Barcelona finished at the top of the league table with an impressive 88 points from 38 matches, solidifying their status as one of the strongest teams in Spain.
