FC Barcelona have set their sights on Spanish defender Mika Marmol as they plan their summer transfer moves. Marmol, who is 21 years old, had an impressive season in the Segunda division, contributing one goal and one assist in 37 games for FC Andorra.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona had previously sold Marmol to FC Andorra, but they now plan to activate a buyback option worth around €1 million. This move further highlights Barcelona’s intent to strengthen their squad this summer, having already signed IIkay Gundogan and Mikayil Faye.
Marmol, who previously represented the Spanish U-20 national team, is known for his versatility in defense. He can play both as a centre-back and as a left-back, providing Barcelona with valuable options in their backline.
Having joined Barcelona’s academy in 2006, Marmol was promoted to the senior team in the 2021/2022 season before making the move to FC Andorra the following season. Barcelona, who recently clinched the 2022/2023 Laliga Santander title with 88 points from 38 matches, are now looking to add Marmol to their championship-winning squad.
