Victor Boniface of Union Saint-Gilloise has been named Europa League Player of the Week by UEFA. The 22-year-old Nigerian forward beat off competition from Paulo Dybala, Bruno Fernandes, and Edmond Tapsoba for the honour.
Boniface earned the recognition after an impressive performance against Union Berlin in the round of 16 first-leg tie. He bagged two goals in the match, taking his tally to five goals in seven appearances in the Europa League. In all competitions this season, he has now scored 19 goals.
