Borussia Monchengladbach Interested In Onuachu

Borussia Monchengladbach, one of the top clubs in Germany, is eyeing Nigerian international Paul Onuachu from Southampton. The 29-year-old striker joined Southampton in January for €18m from Belgian Pro League club KRC Genk but failed to score in his 11 league appearances for the Saints. Onuachu is eager to leave Southampton after their relegation from the Premier League. Transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri confirmed that Borussia Monchengladbach is keenly interested in the Nigerian forward.

Onuachu’s career has been on the rise in recent years, thanks to his impressive performances at Genk. He was the top scorer in the Belgian Jupiler League in the 2019-20 season, netting 29 goals in 33 appearances. His goal-scoring prowess earned him a call-up to the Nigerian national team, where he has scored 7 goals in 15 appearances.

Borussia Monchengladbach is known for its attacking style of play, and Onuachu’s physical presence and aerial ability could be a good fit for the club’s system. The German side finished eighth in the Bundesliga last season and will be looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Southampton will be hoping to recoup the fee they paid for Onuachu when they signed him in January. The pressure will be on the player to prove his worth wherever he ends up, and the Bundesliga would be a good platform for him to showcase his skills. Onuachu’s potential move to Borussia Monchengladbach will be one to watch as the transfer window heats up.
