Serie A: Dessers and Okereke suffer relegation with Cremonese

Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers has reportedly turned down a move to Rangers as he wants to stay in Italy. The 28-year-old recently joined Cremonese from Genk but had a tough first season, scoring just seven goals in 29 appearances. Since Cremonese’s relegation to Serie B, Dessers has been linked with a move to Rangers, who are looking to bolster their squad ahead of next season’s title challenge. However, according to reports, Dessers is not interested in leaving Italy and is attracting interest from Torino. The Gers have had a good relationship with Nigerian players in recent times, with Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey both impressing before moving on to bigger clubs. Dessers is thought to be valued at €6million, but Cremonese are in no hurry to sell as he still has four years left on his current deal.
