Fenerbahce’s Nigerian defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel is a hot prospect in the transfer market as Leeds United and Bournemouth look to sign the versatile player. The 25-year-old has attracted interest from the two English clubs after impressing during his time at Fenerbahce.
Osayi-Samuel has had a successful career in the United Kingdom, starting off at the youth setup at Blackpool before moving to Queens Park Rangers. He played over a hundred games for the club, across four seasons, before making a winter transfer move to Turkish giants, Fenerbaçhe in January 2021.
His versatility has seen him employed across several positions, from a right back to a wing-back, to a right winger. Fenerbaçhe’s management are reportedly willing to allow the transfer of Bright Osayi-Samuel if the transfer fee is around 10 million euros.
One of the clubs interested in signing the Nigerian defender is AFC Bournemouth. The club secured top-flight status in the Premier League for the 2023/2024 season and is looking to build a strong squad to ensure their safety in the league for further seasons.
On the other hand, a transfer to Leeds United could be harder, considering they just relegated, and most of their players will be looking to leave. This status could make it harder for players to fancy a move to Elland Road.
Regardless, Osayi-Samuel’s talent and versatility are undeniable, and whichever club he ends up in will surely benefit from his skills. It remains to be seen where he will end up, but one thing is for sure – the transfer market is heating up, and the race for the Nigerian star is on.
