Enyimba FC Coach Finidi George Aims for CAF Champions League Triumph in 2023/24 Season
Enyimba FC has won the Nigeria Premier League title for the ninth time, and Coach Finidi George is optimistic that the Aba giants will make a major impact in the CAF Champions League next season. The Peoples Elephant will return to the continental competition in the 2023/24 season, and Finidi believes his team can replicate their 2004 success.
“It’s a big thing for us to return to continental football, that’s where we belong,” Finidi stated. “We won’t relent, we will continue to work hard to make an impact next season in the CAF Champions League.”
Enyimba FC has a rich history in African club football, having won the CAF Champions League twice, in 2003 and 2004. However, the Aba giants have not tasted success on the continent since their last triumph in 2004.
Remo Stars will also represent Nigeria in the competition next season, and it will be the first time the Sky Blue Stars will be competing in Africa’s biggest club competition.
Enyimba FC is one of the most successful clubs in Nigerian football history, and their fans will be hoping that their team can bring back the glory days in the CAF Champions League. With Finidi George at the helm, Enyimba FC has a coach who knows what it takes to win on the continent, having won the CAF Champions League with Ajax Amsterdam in 1995.
Enyimba FC will need to strengthen their squad in the transfer window to compete with the best teams in Africa, but with Finidi George’s experience and the team’s rich history, the Aba giants have the potential to go all the way in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.
