Italian football legend Giuseppe Galderisi has voiced his desire for Napoli to retain the services of their star striker, Victor Osimhen, despite the intense interest from foreign clubs. Osimhen played a crucial role in Napoli’s recent Scudetto triumph, scoring an impressive 26 league goals. This outstanding performance has made him one of the most sought-after strikers in the world, attracting attention from top clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich.
However, Galderisi, a former Juventus star and three-time Serie A winner, hopes that Osimhen will continue his career in Italy. He emphasizes the excitement and entertainment factor that the Nigerian Super Eagles star brings to the Italian league. Galderisi acknowledges that one of the interested clubs may present Napoli with an irresistible offer, but he hopes that Osimhen will stay.
In an interview with Radio Marte, Galderisi stated, “I hope they don’t touch Osimhen, who entertains me in the Italian league. I really like Hojlund. Certainly, Napoli, with De Laurentiis, is making excellent moves. There are no gifts; he is one of those presidents who commands respect in every aspect, and I believe Osimhen will leave for a figure that you can’t refuse.”
Osimhen currently holds the title of the most valuable player in Serie A history, with a market value of €120 million. Napoli reportedly demands a hefty fee of €150 million from any potential buyer to part ways with their prized asset.
