Kwara United To Resume Pre-Season Training Monday

Kwara United Football Club is gearing up for the upcoming 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season, with the old players set to resume training on Monday, July 3rd, 2023. The General Manager of the club, Bashir Badawiy, has directed the players to convene at the Kwara Football Academy pitch at 4.00pm.

After a one-month end-of-season break that started on June 1st, 2023, Kwara United is ready to get back into action. The club participated in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) Abridged League as well as the Federation Cup competitions. They finished the league in the 8th position in Group A and were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Federation Cup by Plateau United of Jos.

Throughout the season, Kwara United faced a unique challenge of playing all their league matches away from home due to the regrassing of the pitch at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex. Despite this setback, they managed to secure their position in the league by defeating Nasarawa United 1-0 in Matchday 17th of the Npfl in Akure.

The General Manager expressed his gratitude to the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his continuous support in helping the team successfully avoid relegation. He also praised the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji, and other stakeholders for their unwavering support.
