Napoli want Europa League’s wonder-goal scorer to replace Osimhen

Napoli are reportedly considering a move for Terem Moffi in case Victor Osimhen leaves the club this summer. The Serie A champions have been reluctant to let Osimhen go and are said to be demanding a fee of €150million for the Nigerian striker. As a result, Napoli are already looking for viable replacements and have shortlisted Nice star Moffi and Lille man Jonathan David.

Moffi would be the cheaper option for Napoli, but he has proven himself to be a quality player. The 22-year-old was the ninth-highest goalscorer in Ligue 1 last season, scoring 18 goals in the French top flight and adding three in the Europa League. His over-head scissors kick against Basel in the Europa League was even voted the best goal of the season.

Nice acquired Moffi from Lorient for €25million, and they may not demand up to €50million to let him go. Meanwhile, David could cost up to €60million. Napoli will have to weigh up their options carefully and decide which player would be the best fit for their team.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the fact that Napoli are considering a move for Moffi shows that they are preparing for all eventualities. Osimhen has been linked with many top clubs in Europe this summer, including Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG, and Bayern Munich. If he does leave, Napoli will need to find a suitable replacement to fill the void left by the Nigerian striker.

It remains to be seen whether Moffi will be the man to do that, but his performances last season suggest that he could be a good fit for the Italian giants. Napoli will need to act quickly if they want to secure his services, as other clubs may also be interested in the talented striker.
