OGC Nice, Lille Interested In Simon

Nigeria’s Moses Simon is causing a stir in the French transfer market as OGC Nice and Lille eye the 27-year-old winger. Simon, who has one year left on his contract with Nantes, is expected to make a move this summer, with Nice and Lille reportedly leading the chase for his signature.

According to reports from L’Equipe, the former KAA Gent player is in high demand, and Nantes are expected to demand around €5m for his services. Simon’s impressive form last season saw him score five goals and provide four assists in 34 league appearances for the Canaries.

Despite narrowly escaping relegation in Ligue 1, Nantes are expected to lose the services of the pacy winger, who is currently on international duty with Nigeria. Simon joined Nantes from Spanish side Levante in 2020, after initially spending the previous season on loan with them.

For Simon, a move to Nice or Lille would represent a new challenge in his career. Nice finished ninth in Ligue 1 last season, while Lille won the league title. Both clubs are known for their attacking style of play, and Simon’s pace and trickery would fit in well with their approach.

  1. As the transfer window heats up, it will be interesting to see where Simon ends up and how he adapts to his new surroundings. For now, all eyes are on the Nigerian winger.
