OFFICIAL: Plumptre Departs Leicester City

Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has bid farewell to her English Women’s Super League club, Leicester City. The Foxes made an official announcement about Plumptre’s departure, stating that her contract with the club had come to an end at King Power Stadium.

During her time at Leicester City, the 25-year-old defender showcased her skills in 23 appearances across various competitions in the 2022/23 season. Plumptre initially joined the club in 2020 after completing her Human Biology degree at the University of Southern California’s USC Trojans.

Plumptre played a crucial role in Leicester City’s triumph in the Barclays Women’s Championship in 2021, and she continued to contribute significantly in the team’s first two seasons in the women’s top flight. Throughout her tenure, she accumulated an impressive record of 79 appearances in City blue.

LCFC Women expressed their gratitude to Ashleigh for her valuable contributions over the past four seasons and extended their best wishes for her future endeavors. While bidding adieu to Leicester City, Plumptre is currently representing the Super Falcons in Australia for the highly anticipated FIFA Women’s World Cup.
