Carlo Ancelotti, the current manager of Real Madrid, has dismissed rumors that he will be taking over as the head coach of the Brazilian national team. The Brazilian Confederation had reportedly expressed interest in Ancelotti as their priority candidate for the position, but the Italian coach has stated that he is content with his current role in Madrid.
In an interview with Il Giornale, Ancelotti spoke about his happiness in Madrid, saying, “I feel good in Madrid, I have a splendid relationship with Florentino PĂ©rez, life here is magical. Madrid is the ideal city.” His comments suggest that he has no intention of leaving the Spanish capital anytime soon.
Ancelotti also addressed concerns about the grueling schedule that football players are subjected to, particularly during international tournaments. He stated that his team, between the League, cups, and the World Cup, will end the season with 73 games. He expressed his desire for UEFA and FIFA to come to an agreement regarding player welfare, saying, “Either UEFA and FIFA agree or the health of the players no longer matters.”
Ancelotti has had a successful career in football management, winning numerous titles with several top clubs in Europe. He has been at the helm of Real Madrid since June 2021, and his team is currently sitting at the top of the La Liga table.
The Brazilian national team has been without a permanent head coach since Tite’s contract expired after the Copa America in July. The Selecao is set to play their next set of World Cup qualifiers in October, and it remains to be seen who will be leading the team out onto the pitch.
For now, it seems that Ancelotti’s focus remains on his current role at Real Madrid. The Italian coach has debunked rumors of a move to Brazil, and fans of Los Blancos will be hoping that he can continue to bring success to the club.
