Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi may not be joining Scottish champions Celtic this summer, according to Sporty9ja. Ndidi’s Leicester City team suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, which puts the club in a difficult position as some of their key players are nearing the end of their contracts. With just one year left on his deal, Ndidi is likely to seek opportunities to play at a higher level. Although he was linked to Celtic recently, Football Scotland reports that the move is unlikely to happen as the Hoops do not consider Ndidi a priority. The main hindrance to the deal is the price tag – Celtic would have to pay €25 million, which is significantly more than the club has ever spent on a player (€9 million). Celtic will now have to explore cheaper options if they want to strengthen their defensive midfield position.
