Nigeria’s Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare, has commended the country’s under-20 national football team, the Flying Eagles for their impressive performance at the 2023 CAF U-20 AFCON in Egypt. The Flying Eagles finished in third place, setting a record as the first team to finish on the podium a record 13 times.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Development has urged the Flying Eagles to use the lessons learnt from the competition to prepare for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia in May. He believes that although the team may not have achieved their desired outcome, the bronze medal is still better than nothing.
