Super Eagles sensation caught in payment dispute between Heerenveen, CSKA Moscow

Dutch football club SC Heerenveen has taken its grievances over Russian side CSKA Moscow’s failure to complete the transfer of Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke to FIFA. Heerenveen is unhappy with the conduct of CSKA Moscow and has lodged a formal petition against the club after it failed to transfer the final payment of €3m due in May 2022. CSKA Moscow has blamed the delay on the sanctions imposed on Russian banks due to the conflict in Ukraine, but Heerenveen remains unconvinced by this explanation. The resolution now rests with FIFA, leaving Heerenveen in a waiting game.
