Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers is currently a hot commodity in the transfer market, with Serie A club Torino now joining the race to sign the talented forward. This news could potentially harm Michael Beale’s transfer plans at Rangers, as Dessers was one of his top targets for the summer season.
According to Italian sports paper Tuttosport, Torino has expressed interest in Dessers and may soon make a move to bring him to the club. Additionally, Torino could have an advantage in negotiating the transfer fee, as Cremonese is keen on signing two players from the club.
Rangers have been trying to negotiate with Cremonese to bring the asking price down from £7 million, but so far have been unsuccessful. However, with Cremonese’s interest in signing Demba Seck and Gvidas Ginetis from Torino, the Turin club could use the pair as makeweights in the deal and pay less for Dessers.
Beale has been eager to partner Dessers with Sam Lammers, who recently signed with Rangers. The Dutch forward is the fourth signing of the summer, following Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, and Jack Butland.
If Rangers can successfully negotiate a deal for Dessers, he will join a formidable team and add to their already impressive roster. However, with Torino now in the mix, the competition for Dessers’ signature has intensified. Stay tuned to see where Dessers will end up this season!
