Galatasaray are considering a move for Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru, according to Turkish journalist Levent Tuzemën. Tuzemën has advised the former Turkish champions to sign Onyekuru if they fail to secure the signing of Kosovo forward Milot Rashica from Norwich City.
Onyekuru played his best football in Turkey last season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists for Adana Demirspor. Despite his impressive performances, he is set to return to his parent club Olympiakos as his loan deal only runs for one season.
Galatasaray are keen to sign Rashica permanently after the forward spent last season on loan with the club. However, Norwich City are stalling on the move, leaving Galatasaray to consider alternative options.
Onyekuru has previously played for Galatasaray and could be open to a return to the Turkish capital. Tuzemën believes a reunion with the Nigerian striker would be good for Galatasaray, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
The 26-year-old has been linked with several clubs this summer, including Ligue 1 side Lyon and Premier League club West Ham United. However, a move to Galatasaray could be an attractive option for Onyekuru, who has already proven himself in the Super Lig.
Galatasaray will be hoping to challenge for the title next season after finishing second behind Besiktas last term. The signing of Onyekuru could provide a much-needed boost to their attacking options and help them to achieve their goals for the upcoming campaign.
